I lost my close friend to suicide.
I spent the next few weeks writing these songs and watching another friend die in the ICU.
I had hoped he was healing, but he was not.
Both of these friends were very very special people and very very close to me.
I had been lucky before. I hadn't ever lost someone so close.
And after Marlo was gone, I didn't really imagine it was possible to lose Matt too all in a matter of weeks.
When you lose someone so close, the grief feels infinite.
When you add infinity to infinity, you get infinity.
I cannot comprehend infinity of course and I truly don't understand what's happened to me because it's still happening.
But then I guess you never really understand anything. Not really.
Take care of yourself and each other.
